Members : Role and Responsibilities
The members of our trust are the guardians of its governance. Their primary role is to hold the trust board to account for the effective oversight and strategic direction of the trust, ensuring that the trust’s charitable objectives are met and that high standards of governance are maintained.
Members are not involved in the day-to-day management of the trust but must remain informed about its performance and governance. When appointing new members, consideration is given to the skills and experience required to maintain effective oversight and contribute to the trust’s development.
All members meet at least annually at a general meeting, where they review the trust’s governance, receive the annual audited accounts, and consider any significant changes to the trust’s constitution or membership.

Trustees : Role and Responsibilities
The Trust Board is the accountable body for the academy trust. Its core functions are to ensure clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction; to hold executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils; and to oversee the trust’s financial performance, ensuring that its money is well spent.
It assesses and manages the major risks facing the trust, ensures transparency and accountability through regular meetings and published reports.
It complies with all relevant charity and company law duties, upholding the Seven Principles of Public Life (Nolan Principles) and the trust’s own code of conduct.
The Trust Board meets termly and operates through a scheme of delegation, with clear lines of accountability to local governing bodies and committees. All trustees complete annual declarations of interest and participate in regular training and self-evaluation to ensure effective governance.
